Room 4 created a movie called Robot Teacher? No Thank You!
It all started with a discussion about how amazing AI (Artificial Intelligence) is. We thought about how awesome it would be if we had a teacher that was like an AI robot and that maybe one day, this could be the case around the world. Then, we talked about why that would be a bad idea and how robots cannot be like a real teacher.
Our teacher decided to use AI to help make the movie. We used ChatGPT to write the script (we, of course, had to change some things), and then we used a free site called VEED to create the animation of our robot teacher. We decided to call her Miss Applewood 3000 because Apple is a big technology company and 3000 sounds like a robot’s name. We called the real teacher Miss Honey, like in the movie Matilda. She had to be a kind, warm character that saved the day.
The message of the movie was that robots and technology are really helpful tools, but they can never replace real people.
We also tried to make the movie as funny and entertaining as possible.
Full disclosure: we do not normally jump on chairs or run in the classroom, and we do not condone this behavior. It was all part of the fun of acting.
We really enjoyed making this movie, and we hope you enjoy it too!

I don’t think robot teachers can stop us because there is nothing they can do. I personally wouldn’t want a robot teacher at all, they might be wrong if you don’t know. Robot teachers might also be boring. This is a funny movie Keep up!

The movie was delightful and we enjoyed the robot teacher and its genre. The two of us also have the same opinion on the robot teacher like you guys. We do not like the idea of the robot teacher as most younger students will not be attentive, as they also won’t learn well because of the teacher just being AI and in the screen. Both of us find this topic and movie interesting and creative.

I really loved watching your Manaiakalani Film! It was so hilarious how the AI teacher couldn’t do anything when you guys were playing around the class and not listening to the AI teacher. We love your creativity and your predictions in the future for teachers. It made us wonder would we really have AI teachers in the future? If so we probably wouldn’t be learning from the AI teachers.

We really enjoyed the part when Anabella-Blu asked for water and the robot teacher said “Unauthorised activity” – that was so funny! We also liked how everyone was so happy when the teacher returned to the room, and it was funny how the robot teacher left, but said she’d be back.
